Marinara Sauce
Marinara Sauce is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 cans progresso tomatoes, crushed, 4 to 5 cloves garlic, crushed, 1/4 c. fresh basil, 1/4 c. olive oil and 2 cans progresso tomatoes, pureed, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Over low heat, heat the oil. Add the garlic and parsley and brown, being careful not to burn.
Add 4 cans of crushed and 2 cans of the pureed tomatoes. Add the basil.
Chop up one of the carrots into tiny pieces and throw it into the sauce.
Peel and place the second carrot in the sauce to absorb the acid from the tomatoes.
Simmer over low heat for 4 to 6 hours. Discard the whole carrot and serve the sauce with your favorite pasta. Remaining sauce can be frozen for later use.
