Mama's Angel Biscuits
Mama'S Angel Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 8 c. self-rising flour (white lily), 1 1/2 tsp. soda, 1/3 c. sugar, 1 1/2 c. crisco and 3 pkg. dry yeast, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Sift dry ingredients into large mixing bowl.
Cut Crisco in until fine crumbs.
Dissolve yeast into water.
Make hole in flour.
Add yeast mixture first, then buttermilk and mix together. Brush over with salad oil to keep from forming a crust.
Cover and put in fridge overnight.
Flour dough cloth and roll out a portion.
I use same dough for biscuits or for rolls, roll thinner, cut, dip in oleo and fold over in pan.
