Mama Crow's Raisin Nut Jam Cake
Mama Crow'S Raisin Nut Jam Cake is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 20 minutes. Made with c. softened butter or margarine, c. sugar, large eggs, c. jam (blackberry is recommended) and c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. In large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs well, then add jam.
Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients and beat well after each addition.
Stir in raisins and nuts.
Pour into 3 greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.
Bake 40 minutes at 300Β° (or until toothpick inserted in center of layer comes out clean).
