Position rack in center of oven and preheat oven to 350Β°. Cover 2 baking sheets with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
In medium bowl, sift together flour, baking soda and salt.
In large bowl, beat butter for 30 to 45 seconds with electric mixer; set on low.
Butter should be creamy.
Gradually add sugars to batter and beat at medium speed for 1 to 2 minutes or until mixture is light and fluffy.
Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well between each addition.
Add vanilla.
Using wooden spoon, stir in flour mixture.
Add chocolate chunks and nuts; stir until well combined.
