Ma Wilson's Vanilla Wafer Cake
A heirloom Southern cake built on crushed vanilla wafers instead of flour, with coconut, pecans, and six eggs for richness. Dense, moist, and famously good days later.

Melt oleo.
Roll vanilla wafers until crumbled finely. Combine oleo, eggs, sugar, coconut, milk and pecans.
Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 275Β° for 1 1/2 or 2 hours.
