Lemon Sugar Cookies
Lemon Sugar Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. unsalted butter, 1 c. sugar, 2 large eggs, 2 tsp. grated lemon peel and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
In bowl, beat sugar and butter until fluffy.
Mix in eggs, lemon peel and vanilla.
Mix in flour, baking powder and salt. Form into 4 disks, wrap and chill 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 350Β°. Roll dough 3/16 of an inch thick on floured surface.
Cut with cookie cutter; place on baking sheet.
In as many cups as colors used, mix 1 egg yolk with 1 teaspoon water and food color.
Brush onto cookies and top with sprinkles.
Bake 8 minutes until set. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
