Lemon Pound Cake
Lemon Pound Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1 c. shortening, 4 eggs, 1 c. buttermilk and 3 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt; add alternately with buttermilk.
Add extracts and flavoring.
Mix well.
Pour into a greased and floured tube pan.
Bake at 300Β° for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Brush part of glaze on cake when it comes from the oven. Invert on serving plate and brush remaining glaze all over cake.
