Laurie's Whole Wheat Bread
Laurie'S Whole Wheat Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. warm water, 1/4 to 1/2 c. molasses, 2 tbsp. dry yeast, 1/4 c. oil and 4 c. whole wheat flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine water, molasses and yeast in large bowl; let stand 5 minutes.
Add oil and 4 cups whole wheat flour and beat about 110 strokes.
Add enough white flour to make a stiff dough.
Knead until smooth and elastic.
Let rise until doubled.
Punch down, cover and let rise again.
Form into 3 loaves; place in well-greased bread pans.
Bake at 350Β° for about 50 minutes.
