Lasagna Italian Style
Lasagna Italian Style is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 lb. sweet or hot italian sausage (6 links), 3/4 lb. ground beef, 1/2 c. onion, finely chopped, 4 cloves garlic, crushed and 2 1/2 tbsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Remove sausage meat from outer casing; chop the meat.
In large Dutch oven, over medium heat, saute sausage, beef (break up beef with wooden spoon).
Add onion and garlic, stirring frequently, until well browned, about 20 minutes.
Add sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, the basil, fennel, pepper and half of the parsley; mix well.
Add tomatoes, tomato paste and 1/2 cup water, mashing tomatoes with wooden spoon.
Bring to boiling.
Reduce heat; simmer, covered, stirring occasionally, until thick, 1 1/2 hours.
