Kielbasa Casserole
Kielbasa Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 lb. good quality kielbasa, 1 (12 oz.) bottle chili sauce, 1 1/2 c. catsup, 3/4 c. boiling water and 1 bay leaf, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Place sausage in pot with cold water.
Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes.
Pierce sausage to drain fat, then cut into 1/2 to 1-inch pieces. Place in casserole.
Cover with a combination of chili sauce, catsup, boiling water, bay leaf and allspice. Top with sliced onion. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake at 350Β°, uncovered, for about 40 minutes.
Add wine.
Bake 15 minutes longer.
Remove bay leaf and allspice. Serve with rye bread.
