Kentucky Pound Cake
Kentucky Pound Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. butter, 3 c. sugar, divided, 9 eggs, separated, 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour and 1/2 c. rich milk (coffee cream, evaporated milk or powdered milk added to milk), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Separate eggs.
Beat whites until stiff, adding 1/2 cup of the sugar.
Set aside.
Cream butter.
Add rest of sugar, then beat well.
Add yolks, about 2 at a time; beat well.
Add flour and milk alternately.
Add vanilla.
Fold in egg whites.
Bake in large (10-inch) tube pan which has been greased and floured on bottom only at 300Β° for 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours until tester comes out clean.
Cool right side up on rack.
