Joy's Pot Roast
Joy'S Pot Roast is an easy dinner. Made with 1 roast (sirloin, rump or chuck), thawed or frozen and 1 envelope lipton onion soup mix, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Sprinkle salt into bottom of a Dutch oven pot with a lid.
Heat pot on high hot enough to sizzle the roast.
Drop roast in hot pot, fattest side down first, long enough to slightly brown.
Flip roast over to brown other side.
Turn on low heat.
Sprinkle soup mix on top of roast.
Add about 1 cup of water around sides of roast. Cover pot with liquid and cook on low until roast is done.
(Takes longer for a frozen roast.)
Remove roast from pot; set aside to make gravy with drippings in the pot.
