Jadra (Lentils and Rice)
Jadra (Lentils And Rice) is an easy dinner. Made with 1 c. uncle ben's rice, 1 c. lentils, clean and wash like beans, 1 large yellow onion, slice thin, salt and pepper and 1/4 to 1/2 c. oil, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
In heavy fry onion in oil until golden brown or a little darker.
Aside.
Another put lentils in enough water cover.
Boil and cook 20 to 30 minutes until almost done.
When almost done, add onion, rest of oil, raw rice, salt and pepper.
Put enough water like you are cooking rice plus the lentils, water to make 2 to 3 cups liquid.
Check about minutes later and add more liquids. The dish should be firm.
Mix and serve.
