Irish Bread
Irish Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/4 c. margarine or butter, 1/2 c. sugar, 1 egg, 1 1/2 c. buttermilk (at room temperature) and 2 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Cream together the butter, sugar and egg.
Add the buttermilk and blend.
Sift together the dry ingredients and add them to the buttermilk mixture.
Stir in the raisins.
Bake in a greased 8-inch or 9-inch round cake pan at 350Β° for 40 to 50 minutes. Sprinkle lightly with sugar before baking.
Serves 8.
