Hot Cross Buns
Hot Cross Buns is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 cake yeast, 1 c. milk, 1 tbsp. sugar, 3 1/4 c. flour and 1 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Dissolve yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar in lukewarm milk.
Add 1 1/2 cups flour.
Beat until smooth.
Let rise.
Add butter and sugar, creamed; egg, well beaten; raisins, floured, and rest of cinnamon, salt and flour.
Knead.
Cover and let rise.
Shape, place on pan and cover again.
Let rise again.
Glaze with egg white diluted with water.
Cut a cross on top of each and bake at 350Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
Frost across on each.
