Homemade Caramel Corn
Homemade Caramel Corn is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 20 c. popped popcorn, 2 c. firmly packed brown sugar, 1 c. butter, 1/2 c. corn syrup and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Heat oven to 200Β°. In 2-quart pan combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup and salt.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until mixture comes to a full boil, 12 to 14 minutes.
Continue stirring until mixture reaches soft ball stage.
Remove from heat. Stir in baking soda.
Place popcorn in grocery bag.
Pour mixture over popcorn.
Shake. Place popcorn on jelly roll pan.
Spread out. Bake 20 minutes. Stir.
Continue baking for 25 minutes more. Remove from oven immediately.
Place caramel corn on waxed paper. Cool.
Break into pieces.
