Hattie's Chocolate Pie
Hattie'S Chocolate Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 tbsp. cocoa, 2/3 c. flour, 3/4 c. sugar, 3 egg yolks and 3 egg whites, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Mix flour, 3/4 cup sugar, cocoa, egg yolks and salt in top of double boiler with about 1/2 cup milk.
Stir mix to reduce lumping.
Put on top of boiler.
Add rest of milk; whisk until thick.
Add vanilla.
Pour into cooked pie shell.
Beat egg whites with 1/3 cup sugar until stiff to make meringue.
Place on top of pie; bake at 450Β° until golden brown, about 8 to 10 minutes.
