Grits Soufflé

Preheat oven to 375°.
Grease 1 1/2-quart casserole dish or soufflé dish.
Scald milk, add grits.
Cook until thick, stirring constantly.
Add salt, baking powder, butter and sugar.
Mix well. Beat egg yolks.
Add to grits.
Beat whites to soft peak; fold in.
Pour into prepared dish.
Bake for 30 minutes.
