Greek Chicken Oregano
Greek Chicken Oregano is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (3 lb.) fryer or chicken breast, oil or melted butter, 2 lemons, squeezed, salt and pepper and 3/4 tsp. oregano, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Preheat oven to 400°.
Cut fryer into serving pieces.
Brush with oil or butter.
Place in 10 x 13-inch baking dish.
Add 1/2 cup water and bake in a 400° oven for 20 minutes, basting frequently.
Reduce heat to 50°; mix lemon juice with 1/4 cup water and pour over chicken.
Season well with salt, pepper and oregano. Dot with butter.
Bake an additional hour, basting frequently, turning over to cook evenly.
