Sift flour, soda, ginger, cinnamon and salt together. Cream sugar and shortening with molasses until well blended in a large bowl.
Add dry sifted ingredients to bowl alternately with boiling water, beginning and ending with dry ingredients; stir in eggs.
Pour into a well-greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
Bake in moderate oven
350Β° for 30 minutes or until center springs back when pressed with fingertip. Cool in pan at room temperature.
