Grass Soup(Polish Kvas)
Grass Soup(Polish Kvas) is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 bunches leaf lettuce, chopped, 3 bunches green onions, chopped (green parts only), 6 medium cucumbers, chopped and take seeds out, 32 oz. sour cream and 4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Wash and chop lettuce.
Put into container.
Put 4 tablespoons (to be deducted from amount in ingredients) of vinegar, 12 ice cubes and 1/2 cup water over lettuce.
Chill (if time permits, overnight).
Combine lettuce, cucumbers and onions.
Add water until it starts showing through the vegetables as you press on vegetables with a spoon.
Add sour cream.
Add salt and vinegar. Amounts listed are what I used.
You may want to start with less and add to taste.
