Grandpa Gilbertson's Prune Bread
Grandpa Gilbertson'S Prune Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 9 eggs (whole), 3 lb. sugar (6 3/4 c.), 1 pt. prune juice (other fruit juice will work as well), 1 pt. prune pulp, cut up fine (also may use any other cooked fruit) and 1 pt. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
The way I mix it (Grandpa), I put eggs, sugar, juice, pulp, milk and vanilla and beat these just so they are well mixed. Sift in 2/3 of the flour and all soda.
Put in lukewarm margarine.
Put in rest of flour.
Mix gently; do not beat too much. This recipes makes 7 loaves.
Bake at 350Β° until toothpick comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes and take out of pans.
