Grandmother's Old Fashioned Pound Cake
Grandmother'S Old Fashioned Pound Cake is an easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. sugar, 1 lb. flour, sifted 3 times, vanilla flavoring, 1 lb. butter or oleo and 1 doz. eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cream butter, then sift sugar.
Add to butter a little at time, until all is used.
Then add egg yolks, beaten until light. Add flour gradually and last add beaten egg whites.
Fold whites in lightly.
Pour into a greased loaf pan or tube cake pan and bake 45 minutes in a moderate oven.
Do not open oven door until cake has been in oven 40 minutes.
A pan of water in bottom of stove helps.
