Grandma's German Potato Salad
Grandma'S German Potato Salad is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. potatoes, boiled in their jackets, 6 to 8 slices bacon, fried crisp and broken, 1 tbsp. flour, 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/8 tsp. pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Boil potatoes in jackets.
When done, peel and slice.
Remove bacon from pan; put on top of sliced potatoes.
Cook 1 large onion in bacon fat.
Add flour, salt, pepper, 1 cup of water, sugar, vinegar and celery seed.
Heat to the boiling point.
Keep stirring until thick.
Pour over sliced potatoes.
Let stand 1 hour.
Serve warm.
Enough for 4 to 6 people.
