Grandma's Bread
Grandma'S Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 large yeast cake, 1 qt. milk, 4 tbsp. sugar, 4 tbsp. melted butter and 1 tbsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Heat milk until lukewarm; crumble yeast into it.
Add sugar and butter.
Gradually add 1/2 of flour, beating well.
Add salt. Continue adding flour until dough can be handled.
Put rest of flour on kneading board.
Knead dough well.
Place in greased deep pan and let rise at least until double (2 to 3 hours).
Divide dough equally into 3 loaves and place in greased loaf pans for approximately 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Bake loaves exactly 45 minutes.
Remove from pans and grease all over with margarine or butter.
