Gorga (Danish) Pickles
Gorga (Danish) Pickles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 large cucumbers, 1 1/2 c. vinegar, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 1 1/2 c. water and dash of mustard seed and turmeric, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Peel cucumbers and scoop out seeds.
Cut in strips and soak in water with 3 teaspoons salt overnight.
Drain; don't rinse.
Make syrup of 1 1/2 cups vinegar, sugar and water (a little mustard seed and turmeric).
Bring to boil and simmer 5 minutes.
Pack pickles asparagus fashion in sterilized jars.
Pour hot boiling syrup over, full to top and seal.
Before sealing, put sprig of dill in each jar.
Makes about 3 pints.
