Gingerbread
Gingerbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 1/4 c. packed brown sugar, 1 egg, 1/2 c. light molasses and 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Grease and lightly flour a 9 x 1 1/2-inch round baking pan. Cream shortening and brown sugar until light.
Add egg and molasses; beat well.
Stir together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with the 1/2 cup boiling water, beating after each addition.
Pour into pan.
Bake in 350Β° oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
