Gingerbread
Gingerbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. sugar, 3/4 c. molasses, 1/2 c. shortening, 1 egg and 2 1/2 c. plain flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Mix sugar, molasses, shortening and egg until smooth.
Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves.
Add to sugar mixture; stir in hot water and pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake in 350Β° oven until done, about 40 to 45 minutes.
If using self-rising flour, omit soda and salt.
