Gingerbread
Gingerbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. molasses, 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, melted, 1 egg, 1/2 c. sugar and 1-1/2 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Mix baking soda with hot water.
In large bowl combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, ginger and salt; add molasses, butter, egg, soda water and vinegar; mix until batter is smooth.
Pour batter into a lightly greased 8 x 8 baking dish.
Bake at 350Β° for 35 - 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool for 15 minutes.
Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
