Gingerbread
Gingerbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened, 1/2 c. lard, 1/2 c. sugar, 1 egg and 1 c. molasses, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Cream butter, lard and sugar in mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
Blend in egg and molasses.
Add sifted dry ingredients; mix well.
Blend in 1 cup very hot water.
Pour into greased and floured pan (9 x 13-inch).
Bake for 35 minutes.
Cut into squares.
