German Chocolate Cake
German Chocolate Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. butter, 2 c. sugar, 4 egg yolks (reserve whites), 2 2/3 c. flour and 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg yolks; beat.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; add to butter mixture.
Add vanilla.
Gradually add milk.
Beat reserved egg whites; fold into batter.
Add 1/2 of grated chocolate.
Pour into large, oblong greased and floured pan (13 x 9 x 2-inch).
Sprinkle chocolate bits over top of cake.
Bake at 350Β° for about 50 minutes.
Remove cake from oven; sprinkle with remaining German chocolate.
Dust with 10x sugar.
