Fruit Cake
Fruit Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 c. dates, 1 c. seedless raisins, 2/3 c. butter, 1 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed and 1/4 c. dark molasses, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Combine the dates, raisins, butter, brown sugar, molasses and hot water; simmer gently for 3 minutes.
Cool in a mixing bowl. Beat the eggs in cooled mixture.
Add the fruits and peels and chopped nuts.
Sift together the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, soda, baking powder and salt.
Add this mixture gradually to the fruit mixture, beating well after each addition.
Pour into 9-inch tube pan lined with waxed paper.
Bake very slowly (275Β°) for 3 hours.
