Fresh Florida Corn Chowder
Fresh Florida Corn Chowder is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. fresh florida corn, 6 ears (canned corn can be used), 4 tbsp. butter, 1/2 c. chopped celery, 1 qt. milk and 1/4 tsp. white or black pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Cut kernels from cobs; set aside.
In large pan, melt butter over medium heat.
Saute onion and celery for about 3 minutes or until tender-crisp.
Stir in flour; cook and stir for 1 minute. Slowly stir in milk, salt and pepper.
Bring to the boiling point, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens slightly.
Stir in corn and simmer, covered, for 5 minutes.
Stir in cheese; heat until cheese melts.
Serve at once in bowls and sprinkle with paprika.
