Preheat oven to 375Β°.
Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Beat egg whites until foamy.
Gradually beat in 3 tablespoons sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
Into flour mixture beat milk and egg yolks until smooth.
Gently fold flour mixture into egg whites along with lemon juice, just until combined.
Slowly heat large buttered skillet or griddle (about 10 inches) with metal handle.
Turn batter into skillet, spreading evenly.
Arrange apple slices in pattern over top.
Sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar mixed with cinnamon over top.
Bake about 10 minutes or until top is glazed. Cut into wedges; serve warm.
Top with whipped cream or ice cream.
