Fresh Apple Butter
Fresh Apple Butter is an easy dinner. Made with 6 lb. tart apples, 3 c. water, 3 c. sugar (approximately), 1 tsp. cinnamon and 1/4 tsp. ground cloves, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Do not core, seed or peel apples.
Just cut into quarters. Cook in enough water to cover for 30 to 35 minutes or until tender.
Put apples and liquid through a sieve or food mill. Measure pulp and for each cup, mix in 1 cup sugar.
Add cinnamon and cloves.
Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves and mixture is thick and smooth (approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours). Pour into hot, clean jars.
Seal and refrigerate.
