French Onion Soup
French Onion Soup is an impressive dinner. Made with 6 beef bouillon cubes, 6 c. water, 6 medium thinly sliced onions, 3/4 stick margarine and 1 tsp. parsley, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

In a Dutch oven, saute onions in margarine until they are translucent but not yet beginning to brown.
Add water and all spices.
Simmer at least 30 minutes.
Under the broiler, toast the bread on both sides.
Put log of cheese in the bottom of each bowl. Ladle the soup into the bowls.
Float 1 piece of bread in each bowl.
Garnish each piece of toast with 1 ounce of cheese.
Serve immediately.
