Egg Bake(Zesti-Egg Strata)
Egg Bake(Zesti-Egg Strata) is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 lb. cooked breakfast sausage, bacon or ham, 5 c. cubed white bread (7 to 8 slices), 1 c. finely chopped celery, 1/2 c. finely chopped onion and 1/4 c. finely chopped green pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Lightly saute or cook sausage or other meat.
Mix together bread cubes, sausage, celery, onions, green pepper and cheese in a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish (Pyrex works best).
Combine eggs, milk, mayonnaise, salt, pepper and mustard.
Pour over mixture. Spread undiluted soup over mixture.
Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour or overnight.
Bake uncovered 1 1/2 hours or until golden brown at 300Β°.
Serves 8.
