Date, Nut & Chocolate Chip Loaf Cake
Date, Nut & Chocolate Chip Loaf Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. chopped dates, 2 tsp. baking soda, 1 c. cold water, 1 c. hot water and 1/2 c. margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Soak first four ingredients together in a small bowl (preferably over night).
Then mix together margarine, sugar, & eggs in a large bowl.
Blend into margarine mixture: 3 c. flour - alternate with date mixture, salt, nuts, vanilla, and chocolate chips.
Place mixture into greased & floured loaf pans.
Makes 2 large or 3 small loaves.
Bake at 350Β° for about 60-70 minutes.
