Melt butter and stir into sugar; beat in eggs.
Add pecans, dates and 1 cup of the coconut.
Form into small balls and roll in the remaining 2 cups of coconut.
Place on greased baking sheet and bake at 300Β° until cookies just begin to brown lightly, about 25 minutes.
Makes about 4 dozen little cookies.
