Creole Pecan Pralines is an easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. sugar, 1 small can carnation milk, 4 tbsp. butter, 2 1/2 c. pecans and 2 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Cook sugar and evaporated milk together slowly in heavy saucepan until a little of the mixture dropped from spoon into a cup of cold water will form soft ball (240Β° on candy thermometer). Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
Add butter and vanilla and beat for a few minutes, then add pecans.
Before candy hardens, drop by spoonfuls onto buttered waxed paper.
