Cream Pie
Cream Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2/3 c. sugar, 3 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch (5 tbsp. flour), 1/2 tsp. salt, 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten (reserve yolks) and 1 baked (9-inch) pie crust, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Combine sugar, cornstarch (or flour) and salt in top of double boiler.
Stir in cold milk.
Cook over boiling water until thickened, stirring constantly.
Stir a little of the hot mixture into slightly beaten egg yolks; add to remaining mixture in double boiler.
Cook for 2 minutes more, stirring constantly.
Cool and stir in vanilla for cream pie.
Pour into pie shell.
Cover with meringue and brown.
