Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies
Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 c. butter or margarine, softened, 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened and 1/2 tsp. almond extract, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

In large bowl, combine sugar, salt, butter, cream cheese, almond extract, vanilla and egg yolk; blend well.
Stir in flour until well blended.
Chill dough for 30 minutes.
On lightly floured surface, roll out dough, a third at a time to 1/8-inch thickness.
Cut into desired shapes with lightly floured cookie cutters.
Place cookies 1-inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Brush with slightly beaten reserved egg white and sprinkle with colored sugar, if desired.
Bake in a preheated 375Β° oven for 7 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool completely.
Frost and decorate, if desired.
Yield
5 to 6 dozen cookies.
