Country-Style Pot Roast
Country-Style Pot Roast is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 to 3 1/2 lb. boneless chuck roast, 1 tbsp. shortening, 1 envelope onion soup mix, 2 c. water and 4 medium size potatoes, cut into 1-inch cubes, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

In Dutch oven brown roast in shortening.
Combine onion soup mix with 2 cups of water.
Pour over roast; simmer, turning occasionally for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until tender.
Or after browning, put into crock-pot until almost tender, then add potatoes and carrots.
Blend flour and water.
Stir into drippings where roast was browned and make gravy.
Serves 6.
