Cook celery first in grease until half done.

Add in order the next 4 ingredients.

Cook until almost done in grease.

Add water and simmer until done.

Add large loaf of bread, which was soaked in one quart of milk.

Gradually add juice from giblets and about 3 to 4 pints chicken stock.

Add 18 raw eggs, 3 teaspoons black pepper, 5 teaspoons salt and 2 sticks butter.

Add crumbled cornbread made from 2 cups cornmeal. Bake 30 minutes at 350Β°.
