Chocolate Velvet Pie
Chocolate Velvet Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (9-inch) unbaked classic crisco single crust, 2 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate, 1 (14 oz.) can eagle brand sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk), 2 eggs, well beaten and 1 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Preheat oven to 400°.
Bake pie crust 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, in heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chocolate with sweetened condensed milk; remove from heat.
Stir in eggs.
Add water and vanilla; mix well.
Pour into hot pie crust.
Bake 10 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 300°.
Bake 20 minutes longer or until center is set.
Chill thoroughly.
Top with whipped cream. Garnish as desired.
Refrigerate leftovers.
