Chocolate Meringue Pie
Chocolate Meringue Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1/3 c. all-purpose flour, 3 tbsp. cocoa, 1/8 tsp. salt and 2 c. water, divided, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Combine 1 cup sugar, flour, cocoa and salt in a heavy saucepan. Stir in 1/2 cup water; mix well to make a paste.
Add remaining 1 1/2 cups water, egg yolks and butter; stir well.
Cook over medium heat about 3 minutes until mixture thickens and boils, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
Pour filling into baked pie shell.
