Chocolate Chip Custard Pie
Chocolate Chip Custard Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 egg yolks, beaten, 1/2 c. sugar, 2 c. milk, scalded, 1 tbsp. gelatin and 1/4 c. cold water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Beat egg yolks and add sugar and milk.
Place in double boiler and cook over hot water until thick. Add gelatin softened in water and vanilla. Cool.
Pour into crust.
Sprinkle with chocolate. Beat egg whites until foamy.
Add cream of tartar and continue beating, adding sugar gradually and beating until very stiff. Spread over chocolate and chill before serving.
