Chocolate Bavarian Pie
Chocolate Bavarian Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 9-inch baked pastry shell or crumb crust, 1 envelope unflavored gelatin, 1 c. milk, 2/3 c. sugar and 1/3 c. hershey's cocoa, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Prepare pie shell; cool.
Sprinkle gelatin onto 1 cup of milk in a medium saucepan; allow to stand for 2 minutes.
Combine sugar and cocoa; add to mixture in saucepan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
Remove from heat; add butter and stir until melted.
Blend in 2/3 cup milk and vanilla. Cool; chill until mixture begins to set, stirring occasionally. Whip the cream until stiff peaks form; carefully fold into chocolate mixture, blending well.
Pour into pie shell; chill until set.
Prepare Strawberry Whipped Cream.
Pipe in a decorative design and top with reserved frozen or fresh strawberries.
