Cheese Straws
Cheese Straws is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. flour, sifted, 2 1/2 c. sharp new york state cheddar cheese, grated, 3/4 stick oleo or butter, 1 tsp. baking powder and 1/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Grate cheese and cream with oleo.
Sift other ingredients and add to cheese.
Add cold water and mix well.
Form into a ball with fingers and put in cookie press.
Using the jagged, 1-inch plate, push mixture onto ungreased baking sheet.
If mixture is too stiff, add a little more cold water into press.
Each cheese straw should be about 3-inches long.
Bake at 375Β° for 10 to 12 minutes.
Remove at once to cooling rack.
Makes 5 to 6 dozen.
