Candied Yams
Candied Yams is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 to 5 sweet potatoes, 1/4 c. water, 1 c. sugar, 2 tbsp. flour and 1/2 stick margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Boil potatoes with skins on until tender.
Let cool, then peel and slice thick and place in greased baking dish in layers.
In a saucepan, mix the water, sugar and flour; let come to a boil. Remove from the heat.
Add margarine and juice of orange.
Grate orange and add, also.
Pour mixture over potatoes.
Add marshmallows; sprinkle with nutmeg.
Place covered dish in a 350Β° oven for about 1 hour.
